It is not recommended for dogs to eat potato chips because potato chips contain high salt content, which exceeds the dog’s salt needs and may lead to salt poisoning or chronic liver and kidney damage. At the same time, some food additives in potato chips may be harmful to dogs’ health. Therefore, they do not recommend feeding potato chips to dogs.

Even so, dogs can still eat potato chips occasionally, but they should not feed too much at one time. Because potato chips contain a lot of salt and fat, dogs are prone to gain weight and lose hair after eating them, and may cause intestinal discomfort, vomiting and diarrhea.
