Pugs are not mynahs. A pug may be commonly known as a pug, and the standard title is pug or pekingese. Pug is derived from the short-haired breed of Pekingese, which the Manchu people call "Pug".

The myna is a kind of bird, belonging to the genus Myna in the order Passerine, family Starlingidae, with black body and white spots on its wings. When the wings are spread out, figure-eight white spots can be seen. It is more common in southern China and is mainly distributed in Asia. Therefore, pugs and mynas are completely different species.
