The tail length of the Black Wolf Dog is about 20 cm to 25 cm, slightly shorter than the body length. The tail is curved in shape, thick at the base and thin at the end. This shape makes the Black Wolfhound's tail look softer and more curved. Compared to other dog breeds, the Black Wolfhound's tail allows for greater agility and speed when running and hunting.

Secondly, the black wolf dog's tail hair is very thick and soft, and feels smooth to the touch. This thick coat maintains its condition most of the time, but in summer the hair on the tail may thin slightly. The tail is the same color as the body hair, usually a mixture of black, gray and white.
