Fox fish, also known as fox-faced bluefish and fox basket fish, belong to the genus Bluefish in the family Bluefish. Its head is triangular, with a small mouth that protrudes forward. There is a black band from the mouth through the eyes to the front of the dorsal fin, and a parallel silver-white broad band behind the black band.

This fish is distributed from Indonesia to the Samoa Islands in the central Pacific, and as far north as the Philippines, Taiwan Island, Paracel Islands, Nansha Islands and other waters. It belongs to warm waters. Water-based nearshore fish, mostly live in rocks and corals.
