Recently (November 06, 2023), Wild Education, an animal rescue organization located in British Columbia, Canada, stated on the official homepage of the world-renowned social media that they welcomed their 120th rescue target this year.
This ciliary gecko in need of treatment has a swollen right eye that looks like a goldfish’s blister eye.

The 120th recipient of aid in 2023!
This poor gecko’s eyes were filled with a lot of fluid.
Fortunately (unlike the causes of swollen eyes in most snakes and other geckos), the fluid that accumulates in the eyes of this ciliary gecko is not actually in the eye, but in the eyeball and Between the transparent scales that protect the eyes.
We have contacted the local veterinarian for treatment and hope to have him go to the pet hospital to drain the fluid and recover this week.

Two days later, Wild Education updated its official social media homepage on the treatment process and recovery of this ciliary gecko with swollen and protruding eyes.
After looking at the comparison photos before and after the operation, I couldn’t tell that it was only the eye that had such a “serious” problem.

Thank you very much to Dr. Maquisten from the pet hospital for helping us treat the eyelashes with "blister eyes" that were sent to us a few days ago. Guard the palace!
After the veterinarian's operation, the fluid was drained from his eyes and the damaged eye cover was removed, so his eyes should feel very relaxed now!
Finally, it must be noted that even such a "simple" surgery needs to be performed by a qualified veterinarian.
As a pet rescue organization, Wild Education stated in its reply that they cannot provide any form of professional medical treatment to rescued animals.
A few years ago, Wild Education was charged with animal cruelty by the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) after giving an enema to a snake.
