Feline asthma is a chronic disease mainly caused by allergies and mainly occurs in cats. Common symptoms include asthma, sometimes accompanied by coughing. During an asthma attack, cats may assume specific postures, such as crouching, craning their necks, and may have noticeable expiratory wheezes.
This wheeze is usually caused by environmental stimuli or allergic reactions rather than abnormal sounds during inspiration. When asthma is severe, cats may have difficulty breathing through their mouths, cough violently, and sometimes even vomit.
