The following is the treatment method for redness and swelling at the wound where a cat has broken skin:

Partial shaving. Expose the wound completely to avoid hair irritation.

Clean the wound. Rinse the wound clean with normal saline or topical mucosal irrigation solution.

Apply ointment. After rinsing, apply saprophytic and muscle-removing ointment to promote tissue growth and recovery, and change the dressing twice a day.

Bandage the wound. Dress the wound to avoid moisture and keep it clean and dry.

Oral medications. Take oral anti-inflammatory drugs containing amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium to control infection.

If the cat is injured in a fight and the wound is deep, it is recommended to take the cat to a pet hospital for debridement and suture for better results.
