Feline ringworm is a skin disease caused by fungi and is contagious. It mostly occurs in malnourished and frail cats. The infection rate is high, but the mortality rate is generally low.
The treatment method for cat ringworm is as follows:
Shave the affected area For hair, use medication to clean and disinfect the affected area.
After disinfection, spray antibacterial drugs externally and use antifungal baths all over the body. It is recommended to do this 2 to 3 times a week.
Take oral anti-inflammatory drugs to prevent secondary infections, and supplement with multivitamins to enhance immunity.
Whether cat ringworm can heal on its own depends on the cat’s own skin resistance and the severity of the infection. If the cat's skin has strong resistance and the infection is mild, there is a possibility of self-healing. If the cat’s skin resistance is weak or the infection is severe, it will generally not heal on its own and needs timely treatment.
