The real form of the deity is the dog, the Roaring Dog. It is a long-haired black Shaanxi thin dog. According to the region, Chinese fine dogs were initially divided into two major breeds: Shandong and Shaanxi. Later, Hebei fine dogs were added. and Inner Mongolian fine dogs. In the north, thin dogs are often called "fast dogs", while in the south, they are often called "fast dogs". There is not much difference between the four breeds in terms of appearance alone. Among them, Shandong Fine Dogs are divided into two strains: long-haired and short-haired. The long-haired dogs are commonly known as "Fanzi" and the short-haired dogs are commonly known as "Sliders". Shaanxi Fine Dogs are all long-haired. Mongolian fine dogs are all short-haired.

Also, the difference between long-haired and short-haired thin dogs is not as big as that of common pet dogs. It mainly depends on the ears and tail. There is not much difference in the length of hair on the body. The Hebei Fine Dog was improved from the "slider" of the Shandong Fine Dog, and is similar in appearance and personality. Therefore, it is also said that the Hebei Fine Dog cannot be regarded as an independent breed.
