1. Causes of disease
Disease is one of the main reasons for the production of white-shell eggs. Diseases such as Newcastle disease and colibacillosis will significantly aggravate the whitening of eggshells. Moreover, after quails are infected, their reproductive capacity will also be affected, causing great damage to the ovaries, fallopian tubes, etc. Resulting in internal glandular pigment synthesis being blocked. After quails become ill, their food intake will also decrease, their digestive function will be disordered, and their feed utilization and conversion rate will decrease. This causes insufficient absorption of electrolytes and a lack of elements that make up the eggshell, resulting in white-shelled eggs.
2. Nutritional reasons
Insufficient nutrition when feeding feed will also lead to the production of white-shell eggs. Among them, vitamins are one of the main nutrients that determine the absorption and metabolism of calcium, phosphorus and other substances, and they also indirectly affect the color of eggshells. And when the eggshell is composed, zinc is essential. Therefore, if there is a lack of zinc, the white shell phenomenon is also very serious. Therefore, we must ensure the nutritional balance of the feed, appropriately adjust the nutritional ratio according to the actual situation, increase the nutritional ratio of vitamins, zinc, calcium, and phosphorus, improve the color of the eggshell, and improve the quality of the eggs.
3. Seasonal factors
Quails are relatively sensitive to changes in the environment during their growth. Especially in high-temperature environments in summer, quails do not have strong heat dissipation capabilities and mainly reduce their body temperature through breathing. If breathing becomes heavier, the carbonate ions in the body will be reduced, resulting in insufficient calcium carbonate content, resulting in the production of white-shell eggs. In low-temperature environments such as autumn and winter, quails cannot adapt in time due to sudden changes in temperature, causing calcium and phosphorus metabolism to be blocked, and the color of their eggshells will naturally turn white. Therefore, we must strengthen management, adjust the temperature reasonably, create a good growth environment for quail, and avoid producing white-shell eggs.
4. Other reasons
When we were doing disease prevention and treatment for quails, we did not strictly follow the prevention and treatment procedures and used improper drugs, which inhibited the carbonase synthase enzyme in the quails' bodies, causing the color of the eggshells to fade. And if the quail is too old, the pigmentation in the uterus will be more serious, which will also affect the color of the eggshell. This kind of disease should be eliminated in time; finally, light will also affect the color of the eggshell. During the laying period, Maintain constant lighting time to avoid the production of white-shelled eggs.
