Like people, animals also have temperaments, and so do larks. For example, some larks are irritable and untamable, while others are honest and docile; some like to climb high and look far away, while some like to curl up and stay low; some are prone to fanning loudly, while others prefer to whisper and have difficulty in getting excited.
How to find out and master the temperament of Bai Ling is also a very important aspect in appreciating and selecting high-quality Bai Ling and must not be ignored. Now, let’s talk about my personal views on this issue. If there is anything wrong, please correct me.
1. How to identify whether larks are honest or not
Everyone will have this experience when raising larks: larks are born honest, and some larks are honest no matter how they are tamed. It is difficult to be honest and obedient, this is the temper of a lark.
Whether a lark is honest or not, there are three differences in physical characteristics:
At first glance.
Larks born with furry hair generally have round, convex eyes, close to the top of their head; while larks born with honest nature generally have triangular eyes, commonly known as "buckwheat eyes", with flat or slightly concave eyes close to the corners of the mouth.
Look at the legs.
Most of the furry larks have high legs, especially the legs with exposed elbows, which are more "hairy" (the same is true for other birds); while the naturally honest larks mostly have short legs, commonly known as "sparrow legs" ".
Third, look at the head shape and body shape.
Most of the furry larks have snake heads, with long and smooth bodies and tight hair; while most of the larks with tiger heads and short bodies, especially those with loose hair, are generally more docile.
Larks as a whole (universal), whether they are naturally honest or fluffy, are timid and extremely vigilant. This is their shared and inherent nature.
It can be said that even if the lark looks honest from the outside, if it lacks tangle and walk, it will be "hairy" (those who are tame and honest will also relapse into sex); A lark will definitely become much more docile and well-behaved if it is constantly played with and "explored" from the time it is a young bird.
As the popular saying among bird lovers goes, "The thrush never leaves the bird, and the lark never leaves the hand." This makes perfect sense. Therefore, the principles of gradual and perseverance must be adhered to in taming Bai Ling.
I won’t go into details about how to tame the chicks. Here are a few words on how to train and tame an adult bird. Especially lark from farmers, they generally have a lot of wool.
This is because: the new owner is not accustomed to the family environment; the new owner is not familiar with it; and some larks are rarely handled by farmers.
Although it looks honest on the outside, it is inevitable that it will flutter for a while. In this case, we must adhere to the principle of "step by step" and cannot be forced to contact it. If it is "shadowed" (frightened), it will be more difficult to tame it in the future.
First, let it get familiar with you and your family. Let Bai Ling gradually relax his vigilance towards you. Larks are afraid of "moving" objects but not "still" objects (the same is true for red objects). At first, when it sees you flapping, you have to stand still at a distance to let it get to know you first, and hold the bugs that birds like to eat in your hand.
Wait until it stabilizes, then gradually approach it, try to use a clamp, and then feed it its favorite food with your hands. Soon it will no longer be afraid of you. Then gradually go outside for a walk and get more in touch with the bustling external environment.
Some larks are not afraid of family members but are afraid of outsiders; they are not afraid of adults but are afraid of children; they are not afraid of "crouching" on the ground but are afraid of being hung up high; or they are afraid of the color red, umbrellas, hats, or wearing glasses. Even the owner is afraid to change into other clothes.
Whatever you are afraid of, just try to let it come into contact with something little by little. The general principle is to proceed step by step and persevere. Don't do it too hastily, and don't do it once and for all. Only in this way can Bai Ling gradually get rid of his timidity and become bold.
"As long as you work hard, an iron pestle can be ground into a needle." As long as the bird is tame, the naturally honest bird will soon become well-behaved and pleasant, and the naturally "silly" bird will not be "rampant" and make trouble.
2. How to identify the nature of a lark
As the saying goes: "Whether a lark is good or not, having a lark is a treasure." This shows the importance of the lark's stage. The quality of the lark is an important condition for appreciating the quality of the lark. A lark with a good temperament appears to have extraordinary magnanimity and is respected; while a lark with a bad temperament is three points shorter than a good one.
How to identify the Taiwanese nature of a lark based on its appearance? I have two opinions:
First look at the wings.
As the saying goes, those with "large-covered wings", that is, those with long wings that almost cover the tail feathers, generally have better platform performance, while others have relatively poor performance.
Second, look at the chest.
It can be said that most people with narrow breasts have breasts, while those with "duck" breasts rarely have breasts, or those with breasts are not high or diligent.
Some people think that the quality of a lark’s platform is related to the height or shortness of its legs. In practice, I feel that those with tall legs may not necessarily have a high platform, and those with short legs may not necessarily have a short platform. The height or shortness of a lark's legs has a lot to do with being stunned or not, but has nothing to do with Taiwanese nature. Watch bird friends experience it in practice.
In fact, the good or bad nature of a lark can be said to be the nature of a lark. However, no matter whether the larks are good or bad, they all like a broad field of vision. This is their common nature. Therefore, based on this, we can tame larks with poor Taiwanese nature, mainly those without a Taiwanese bird (but some tamed birds with a Taiwanese bird will still not be as good as those with naturally good Taiwanese characteristics).
My approach is to cut 20 cm high old cloth or old autumn clothes, autumn trousers, etc. around the lower part of the cage (leave a gap at the water hole), raise the food can upwards by an inch, and use Small round wooden piers of different heights or cylindrical masonry drilled under the air-conditioning holes, etc. (the short one is 1 inch, the high one is as high as a platform, about 5-6 are needed), arranged to surround the food. Can. The shorter one is closer to the cage, allowing the birds to eat and look out.
On the same day, the bird can climb on the shortest pier. At first it rushed to the pier for food, but after climbing onto the pier and seeing the outside of the cage, it became very willing to go up to the pier. Two days later, remove the shortest pier, move the slightly higher pier to this position, and then gradually remove the lower piers and replace them with higher piers, and raise the food jar at any time until you can reach the highest pier at the position of the food jar.
After that, lower the food can and gradually move the highest pier closer to the center of the cage (don’t be too hasty and don’t move more than 1 cm per day). The lark is used to getting up the pier in one place. If the bird changes its position, it will no longer go up. Therefore, let it move to the position of the stage unconsciously and unconsciously.
After the bird is in such a position that it can both go up the pier and the platform, the pier can be removed. But be observant. If the bird does not come up to the stage after removing the pier, it must be returned to the position close to the stage in time until it gets on the stage and is more diligent. Then, gradually increase the height of the platform to train Bai Ling's skills and level of climbing. When the lark enters the great sexual stage, when the lark is most willing to stand on the stage and look far away, the cloth can be removed.
After many practical experiences, I feel that this method of taming the table is better than the hanging food method (that is, placing food on the table or hanging the food can in front of the stage with a wire to lure people to the stage). The advantage and difference is that this method does not just use attracting food as a means to attract birds to the platform, but uses attracting food as the starting point, and based on the characteristics of the lark's preference to broaden the field of vision, lure it to climb high and look far away, and then remove it when the bird is in season. Surrounding the audience, they eventually developed the good habit of going on stage as soon as the lark chirps. Therefore, there will be no situation where the tweet does not go on stage or the stage is lost quickly. The hanging food method only lures the birds to run away for food from beginning to end. Once the cans or food are removed from the stage, the lark will not want to come on stage. Or if there is food on the stage, it will be on the stage, but if there is no food, it will not be on the stage; or if it usually sees the owner (thinking it is feeding), it will come on the stage, but not when it is chirping.
Which method is more effective? Let’s see bird friends experience it in practice
(Reminder:
Wiring is only limited to autumn, winter and spring. , In summer, the scarf will cause irritation and eye problems due to the sultry heat).
3. How to identify the temperament of a lark
The temperament of a lark depends on the individual. In words (vertical comparison of oneself), although temperaments are different at different periods of time, on the whole (horizontal comparison of each other), there is indeed a difference between a strong personality and a small personality. This is an innate personality difference.
How to identify this? I think it’s possible to identify Bai Ling based on his physical signs alone, but we need to look at other things as well.
It is generally believed that larks with loose wings (that is, large wings drooping and often resting under the tail), purple legs, or those with a fiery nature that often attract the limelight are mostly large and prone to fanning. In practice, I feel that in addition to these physical characteristics, the temperament of a lark is closely related to the incubation season, feeding conditions and age of its chicks to a large extent, and cannot be ignored when identifying.
There is a proverb that says: "The first one is fanning, the second one is whistle, the third one is making nonsense." This is an important summary of experience in identifying the temperament and spirituality of lark chicks. Larks that are also raised from fledglings to adults, if they are first nests and are raised and managed properly, some will be able to fan in the same year (according to the anniversary of raising), while others will rarely fan in the same year.
Generally, adult lark is most likely to become sexually active and scream after the second or third coat, especially when it reaches the fifth or sixth coat. In addition, the lark's temperament is also related to feeding and training. I won’t go into details about this.
Let me say a few final words. What I want to emphasize is that when playing Bailing, you must first understand what you are playing. I very much agree with what Bai Ling Jiahao said: Bai Ling "is not for fun."
Singing and dancing Bai Ling, the first is the song, and the second is the dance. Therefore, I think the criteria for appreciating Bai Ling should be the first one is the mouth, and the second one is the dance. The third is sex, and the fourth is honesty. As for whether you are beautiful or not, it is important to pay more attention to your name, your sex, your personality, etc. Therefore, I will post today about Bai Ling’s temperament. I made a special topic and put forward some immature opinions to share with you. There must be many inappropriate or even wrong opinions in the article. I hope experts, experts and bird friends can give me some advice and corrections.
