Thrushes love to sing and are aggressive, but those who sing may not be good at fighting, and those who fight may not be good at singing; this mainly depends on the quality of the bird itself. Therefore, fighting bird experts attach great importance to the selection of thrushes.
Birds of good quality and good character, as long as they are raised and trained properly, can achieve twice the result with half the effort; they are quick to start, have sufficient fighting spirit, are in stable condition, have high fighting skills and can compete with others. Even if birds with poor quality and good quality are carefully raised and trained for several years, it is difficult to achieve good results. At most, they can only show off their beaks a few times before retreating without a fight. There are not many fighting birds, especially high-quality fighting birds, and it is difficult to choose. Because thrushes of different grades have extremely subtle differences in appearance, and they all seem to be the same at first glance. To identify and select the best ones, you must rely on certain experience.
I choose birds to fight against Generally, birds with the following characteristics are selected:
1) When choosing thrushes and fighting birds, instead of nestlings, you should choose from beech and old beech (at least all the feathers should be included). Because they have lived independently in the wild for a period of time or a long time, they have certain fighting skills, enemy defense and disease resistance. They can fly to catch ferocious insects, and have fought with similar species that compete for territory, so they have a strong body. The innate conditions and fighting qualities of this kind of bird are unmatched by ordinary birds.
2) The bird is required to be strong and strong, but also agile. On this basis, try to find a big head. Although the Shishan birds in Guizhou, Guangxi and other places are slightly smaller, they definitely produce good birds. Fighting birds pay great attention to their body shape. It is best to have a shrimp-like back shape from head to buttocks. The body should be flat or round, the chest should be wide and flat or thick, and the wings should be long and pointed. Such a bird is strong, powerful and explosive. The neck should be thick and the twists should be light. It is even more undesirable to have loose twists, otherwise it will be difficult to get rid of the thrush and it will be easy to repeat.
3) The head should be wide and the top should be flat, with the top hair thin and tight. Square-headed and triangular-shaped headboards should be eye-catching; snake-headed and long-headed headboards should have a flat top and a pillow for the back of the head; the head of this type of bird can be both hooped and pecked. Birds with thick and loose top hair and unclear head contours have poor ability to get out of hoops and lack domineering power, making it difficult for them to become generals.
4) The base of the mouth should be thick, bamboo nail-shaped and triangular. The thicker from the tip of the beak to the base of the beak, the better; the line of the beak is best connected to or through the eye rim; the base of the beak is wide and thick; a bird with a straight beak is agile, quick and powerful when it attacks an opponent. Birds with overly thick, arched, and narrow beaks are clumsy in fighting, move slowly, and have little lethality.
5) The eyebrow line should be symmetrical from left to right, preferably thin and in a straight line, which is commonly known as eyebrow line. However, it is not an option for those whose back part of the eyebrow is curved downward (hanging eyebrow), as it may lead to abnormality if the character is poor. The bird's eye cavity should be large, the eye flesh should be abundant and green, and there should be few pink bowls. This kind of bird has a tigerish spirit, good character, and very good re-caging ability.
6) Eyes determine a bird’s character and fighting spirit. The eyes should be quick to react, with black pupils and sharp eyelids that can shrink under light. Such birds also have a sensitive nervous system, are prone to sexual aggression, are aggressive and fierce. The bird's eyes should be bulging ("bulging" means that the eyeball pushes out the upper eyelid, not the entire eyeball is bulging). Birds with bulging eyes are generally healthy and have sufficient internal strength. The upper eyelid should be thick and granular, and thin. The eyes should be pulled tightly, and the eyes should be irregularly round, such as toad eyes or triangular eyes. When such birds fight, the eyes can protect themselves well.
7) The bird's eyes should be transparent (for mature birds), with plenty of water. The eyes should be large Blue, big green, gray blue...the darker one is better. Birds with dark eyes have a calm and strong character. Although the "big blue eyes that can't be killed" are a little slow in onset, they are mostly kings, and there is indeed evidence. The fundus of the eyes should be thick, and the eye sand should be tight. It is required that there are sand grains in the eyes, and they must be layered with the color of the eye base. Birds with light-colored eyes and special sand water birds will not be able to shoot well. Such as white sand green, dry yellow, golden sand yellow, cinnabar red... But the eyes of this type of strain need to be bright and eye-catching from a distance.
8) The feathers must be close to the body. , the tighter the better. The sweater should be thin, the fur should be thick and the hair bones are clear, and the hair on the back and chest should be fish scale-like and slightly dry. Only such thrush can withstand beatings. The coat color should be pure, and green and green hair are preferred. The second choice is green hair; the second choice is green red, and the second choice is bright red. The big green hair is light and less lustrous, brave and good at fighting, and has the strongest vitality. , has a fierce temperament, and requires the greatest patience when raising. The big red has a majestic red coat, a majestic chestnut color, and is aggressive, but has an impatient temperament, poor follow-up ability and is prone to premature aging, so it needs to be taken good care of. The red) feathers are among the brown ones, with a greenish and yellowish luster. The bird has a stable character and strong vitality.
9) The tail feathers should be in a straight shape, bunched up, and slightly hooked (after upper sex). . It should be short, thin or light, and the tail guard should be plump and the back guard should be strong. This kind of bird should have strong follow-up power when fighting and the bird should be stable. The foot pole should not be thick and protruding when possible. The bottom should be as short as possible, and the angle should be wide when standing. (No hair is called a bright cane, which is not good), otherwise it will easily get caught in the fight (when fighting in the cage), and it is easy to be beaten. The feet should be pure (the feet of mature birds should be dry and absorb moisture), the toes should be in the shape of a cat's claw, the claw basin should be large, the nails should be sharp, and the angle between the toes should be large. After pecking, the hoop is good.
