The Malinois, also known as the Malinois or the Malinois, is one of the four Belgian Shepherd Dogs and the one with the strongest working ability. The Belgian Shepherd Dog was born around 1891. After years of research, a veterinarian named A.reul compared more than a hundred locally produced Belgian Shepherd Dogs and distinguished four representative Shepherd Dogs in Belgium. The Malinois lives in the Mali region of Belgium. It was officially named Malinois in 1911 because of its extremely short coat, well-developed muscles, strong explosive power, and better working ability than the other three types of shepherd dogs. The Belgian Shepherd was officially registered with the AKC in the United States in 1912, but it was only after 1959 that the AKC divided the Belgian Shepherd into four different breeds. It was not until 1965 that the AKC established detailed AKC standards for the Malinois as a separate breed. At the same time, it was included in the working dog group, and in 1983 it was changed to the shepherd dog group.

China The current situation and future of the Malinois

The first countries to use the Malinois as military and police dogs were Belgium, its country of origin, and the neighboring Netherlands. The Malinois has excellent performance in this regard and has been introduced and used in large quantities in many countries, including Germany, which is rich in excellent German Shepherd dogs. During the US-Iraq war, dozens of horses and dogs wearing bulletproof vests were active on the battlefield in Iraq. Also during the Wenchuan earthquake and the Olympic Games in China, horses and dogs also emerged in large numbers for corpse search, rescue and explosion detection work. The Malinois is also recognized as one of the best working dogs in the world today.

This reason has a lot to do with the fact that horses and dogs have received so much praise and supporters in China. However, with the popularity of horse dogs, many money slaves and breeders with black conscience have taken advantage of many loopholes. They are pretending to be a military and police dog base.

The main purpose of introducing horse dogs into my country was to rejuvenate the domestic Kunming dogs. The Kunming Dog is a very well-adapted working dog bred by my country's military and police departments. It is a cross between the Langqing left by the Japanese after World War II, the German Shepherd and the local Kunming dogs. It is divided into three color systems (grass yellow, black back, and wolf green). Unfortunately, it has never been recognized by the AKC because of genetic instability. (A genetically stable strain for 5 or more consecutive generations is called a strain).

Later, my country used imported Malinois and Kunming dogs to crossbreed, because Malinois is an ancient and genetically stable breed, which can improve the defects and degeneration caused by long-term inbreeding of Kunming dogs in my country. The first generation of breeding was bred to the Malinois, but it was only close to the Malinois in appearance. The dog's frame, coat color, etc. were all changed. Therefore, most of the first-generation backcrossed horse dogs were kept in local areas after the police dog base was eliminated. Originally, the purpose of the police dog department was to make good use of improved breeds and to eliminate the fittest. But I didn’t expect those unscrupulous dog dealers to seize this opportunity, hype it up, and make huge profits from it! This puts domestic horses and dogs into a very embarrassing situation. In addition, many of my friends who have just entered the horse and dog circle used to be German shepherds, and their aesthetic concepts still remain with German shepherds. But often the so-called "horse dogs" produced by backcrossing the first-generation hybrid horse dogs eliminated from the police dog base and the second-generation horse-kun hybrids just cater to the domestic market. It is ridiculous to say that the purest breed from the police dog base has the best appearance. When the military and police departments of a country go to other countries to introduce working dogs, will they consider them to be purebred or in good condition?

The introduction personnel of the police dog base should first consider whether the working ability of the dog is good and then talk about the appearance. (If you really consider the quality issue, it would be too commercial). The dogs bred at the police dog base should be very good in terms of working ability, but are you able to buy excellent breeding dogs bred by the military and police departments at the base? If it could be purchased, wouldn't the police dog base become a market for dogs? Is this considered a loss of state-owned assets? Therefore, please those with ulterior motives and unscrupulous dog dealers, please do not say that this is the purest breed and the best in appearance. This is actually ruining the reputation of the base.

So what is a good dog? A person who doesn't understand dogs saw a very large dog on the street that was larger than any breed he had ever seen before. They say "good dog" in amazement, or if someone's dog bites a bad guy, they also say "good dog". We can all understand this, because he doesn’t understand dogs, and he doesn’t even know the breed of the dog. Some people who claim to be "experts" or "teachers", if you are a person with certain influence in the local area, once you speak carelessly, you will instill wrong ideas into your friends who have just entered the horse and dog circle, which will be harmful to them. The impact is huge, and it will mislead others and make people laugh. In the future, when people know more than you, they will laugh at you for being ignorant, but it is also possible that some people know the origin of this dog and deliberately say that it is good and purebred, which is understandable. Because if the truth is told, who will these so-called experts and teachers sell their dogs to? But the next person will definitely think that this dog is a purebred, and they will spend a lot of energy and financial resources on it. Isn't this harmful to people? Whether a dog is good or bad, whether it is pure or not, should be the job of the referee. They are the most authoritative. Who are you to say whether someone else’s dog is good or bad? Do you have a professional referee qualification certificate? Only dogs that have participated in a formal purebred dog identification competition and passed the test can be said to be purebred dogs. If your dog has not even participated in a formal purebred dog identification competition or has not even won a prize, then Please let it be the truth.

I hope the "predecessors" and "teachers" who play with Malinois will let this ancient and excellent dog breed go! Save this fragile breed! The specific improvement of a dog breed is a matter of use by the relevant national departments. It's two different things from us folk enthusiasts. What we need to do is to breed truly purebred horses and dogs, and this purebred must be verified by purebred dog competitions.

China The current situation and future of horses and dogs

In fact, the most critical factor is the market. Without demanders, there will be no suppliers. Excessive pursuit of one extreme will make the other The formation of the market is the same for horses and dogs. For those friends who excessively pursue dark coat color, large size, and high ferocity, please open your eyes. Don't listen to the scammers who sell dogs. Who sells dogs and doesn't say that their dogs are good? Some horses and dogs are almost as black as German shepherds. It’s no wonder, because the Kunming dog itself is a cross between German shepherds.

As a breed of working dog, the Malinois has its own characteristics: agility, flexibility, fast speed, strong explosive power, and relatively small size. If it is larger, it loses its characteristics.

When choosing the standard body shape of a horse dog, many people have the following misunderstandings.

Misunderstanding 1: Excessive admiration for foreign countries. I think imported ones are good, but there are many more junk kennels abroad than good ones.

Myth 2: Worshiping the dogs in the police dog base without any goals. The excellent dogs bred by police dog bases are only reflected in their working performance. Have you ever seen police dog bases participate in purebred dog identification competitions organized by AKC, CKU and other organizations?

Myth 3: Comparing prices. When purchasing, you should shop around and get the best product with the least amount of money, but when comparing prices, you should compare prices on the basis of the same quality. You can imagine the possibility that you want to buy a purebred product at a low-quality price.

Myth 4: Making up for or overdoing it. Trainers with small funds or enthusiasts with small funds use training to increase the value of dogs. Most trainers will want to use the excellent personalities of horses and dogs to prove themselves. Because I have little money, I just want to buy one with a good neurological type. It doesn’t matter the quality or whether it’s a purebred, as long as it’s easy to train and it’s cheap. Sell it after training, then buy a good one. When you want to sell this dog, breed it or breed it, can you guarantee your integrity to the next owner in the future? Can those enthusiasts guarantee your integrity when selling this dog in the future?

Myth 5: Impatient. If you want to buy a well-trained or adult dog, this just provides a market for the above-mentioned people. Responsible trainers will tell you the truth. What we sell is trained dogs. It has nothing to do with the breed, but we can guarantee that every Are all these people responsible for honesty? There is also the need to buy adult females for breeding, but who will sell good breeding females?

Myth 6: Believe too much in pedigrees. The pedigree is only an important basis for considering the quality of the dog. Let’s not talk about the authenticity of the pedigree. We can only look at the previous generations of dogs through the pedigree. However, when choosing a dog, we still mainly look at it. individual. It cannot be said that just because the dog has a pedigree, it means it is good or valuable. What you don’t have is not good and worthless. Of course, the enthusiasts mentioned here are not the introduction of breeders.
