In the colorful world of ornamental fish, there is a tacit truth: those fish with lively temperaments and a touch of naughtiness, such as tiger fish and mini parrot fish, are usually easier to raise. They are even less difficult to keep than the graceful guppy – and arguably, ideal for beginners.

But why do some aquarists’ tiger fish still die?

The secret behind this must be revealed: tiger fish are by no means lazy. They are always full of energy in the aquarium and shuttle among the water plants in a continuous flow. If the tiger fish you bought lacks even this spark of life, how can you expect them to shine in their new home?

Especially those agile little fry, they are full of vitality and vitality. As for the problem of thin fish, experienced fish keepers all know this: if you don't pay attention to it, you will eventually be unable to do anything.

In addition, if the tiger fish shows symptoms such as thinness and weakness, white spots on the body surface, redness at the base of the pectoral fins, or shortness of breath, it is likely that the gills have been invaded by bacteria - such a condition has an extremely fatal rate. High, you must keep your eyes open when choosing fish.

Except for these obvious health risks, tiger fish rarely suffer from other diseases. As long as you master the purchasing tips, daily care will be a breeze.

Tiger Hao fish are extremely adaptable to water quality, and they can readily accept any water quality from weakly acidic to weakly alkaline or even neutral. But it is worth mentioning that tiger fish are not interested in fresh water added directly from the tap. Therefore, proper trapped water treatment is the only way to farm them.

At the beginning of fish farming, it is very important to regulate the water quality of the fish tank. Turbid water quality not only affects the appearance, but may also cause fish to die due to lack of oxygen. Therefore, appropriate filtration and constant temperature equipment are basic configurations.

This is a common care principle for all ornamental fish: after long-distance transportation or in an environment with a wide temperature difference, in order to prevent the fish from catching cold or suffering from white spot disease, it is advisable to put the fish into a high temperature culture for a period of time for the first time.

For tiger fish, this step is especially critical. Although they can live in a wide water temperature range of 18 to 32 degrees Celsius, it is best to set the initial water temperature above 28 degrees Celsius, so that most diseases can be isolated from the fish tank. Wait until the fish gradually adapt to the environment and water quality, then slowly lower the water temperature.

Tiger fish are naturally gluttonous, but they often don’t get enough food in fish shops. Therefore, aquarists need to feed them step by step at home, starting with a small amount and gradually increasing to a normal amount.

Once entering the normal feeding cycle, tiger fish will be very fond of no matter what kind of fish food it is, and they will happily accept all kinds of small fish food. If you want them to grow healthily and have bright colors, feeding them three to five times a day can promote their rapid growth.

Tiger fish live in groups and like to chase and play in the water. It is difficult to show the beauty of the group if they are bred alone or only in two or three. Therefore, experienced fish farmers recommend that you raise at least ten fish at a time to achieve significant effects in group breeding. In this way, your aquarium world will be truly vibrant and lively.
