Introduction: Although the two snake species, the Emerald Green Snake and the Bamboo Leaf Green Snake, have similar colors, the biological characteristics of the two snakes are actually very different. The Emerald Snake is a beautiful, non-venomous snake that is the easiest snake for pet snake lovers and first-time owners to get started with. The Bamboo Leaf Green Snake is one of the top ten venomous snakes in my country. It is a highly venomous snake and will cause severe pain after being bitten. Although there are few reports of being bitten to death by the green bamboo leaf snake, it is still life-threatening for individual patients who are allergic to the green bamboo leaf snake venom.

The green snake has a slender body and a medium-sized body. The snake body length is 80 to 110 cm. The head is oval and slightly pointed. The scales on the head are large, which are obviously different from the small scales of Bamboo Leaf Green. The eyes are large, the whole body is smooth and shiny, the body color is dark green, yellow-green or emerald green, the ventral surface of the head and the front ventral surface of the trunk are light yellow and slightly green. The tail is slender, the eyes are large and black. It is good at hiding its whereabouts with its body color to protect itself, and will flee quickly when in danger.

The head is larger, the neck is thin, and the body is smaller. The back is grass green, and the ventral surface is slightly lighter or grass yellow. Starting from the neck, there are often a white vertical line on the left and right sides, either a red and white vertical line, or a yellow vertical line, which are decorated with dorsal scales. The tail is short, burnt red, and twining. The eyes are red, and there are cheek pits (heat detectors) between the eyes and nostrils. There are small scales on the back of the head, and the nasal scales and the first upper lip scale are completely separated by scale grooves; there are 19 to 21 rows of dorsal scales in the middle part of the trunk; 150 to 178 abdominal scales; and 54 to 80 pairs of lower tail scales.
